Claytor Lake

Our good friend Anna invited us and some other friends to her parent's home at Claytor Lake. We had a wonderful time visiting with old friends from Waters Edge Church. The day was rather chilly especially for late July. In fact it was too cold to get in the water but we had fun taking a boat ride and relaxing by the dock. Charlotte didn't like the life vest at first but fell asleep to the boat's roar just minutes into our ride. Special thanks to Anna for a fun Saturday at the lake!
This face about sums up how she felt about the life jacket.

Off to the County Fair!

Over the weekend we drove a short ways to Salem, a small town next to Roanoke, for their annual county fair. We watched a pig race, fed animals at the petting zoo, ate funnel cake and played a game. Charlotte loved watching the animals and people. The weather was great and we joined spending the evening as a family.

July 4th Celebration!

Over 4th of July weekend we headed to Tim's parents home in Maryland for a little rest and relaxation. The weekend involved skeet shooting for the boys, high tea for the girls, tennis matches, a trip to Gettysburg and lots and lots of food. It was great to spend time as a family. Charlotte loved getting to visit with her grandparents, aunts and uncles. Needless to say she was showered with love and affection.

Pops took Charlotte to see the chickens and the cows on several occasions. Tim's parents have a mini chicken farm and there is a dairy farm behind their home. I am sure Charlotte is going to have a lot of fun visiting the animals over the years.

Last Year in Pictures

The last year has been an exciting journey for the Mattson family. These pictures are a few snap shots of stops we've taken along the way.

In June of 2008 we discovered Lauren was pregnant.

Nine months later she has a belly to prove it.

On February 9, 2009, Charlotte Ann joined the Mattson family.
She weighed 7 lbs. 11oz. and measured 20 inches long.

Charlotte's first week home. We feel so blessed to have been given this precious little gift.
